    Starting issues

I have a 2000 323i, i went thru and changed out the coolant lines, ccv valve, of course having to remove and reinstall the intake manifold. Went to start it and got a eml light anr it turned over and sputtered but never started. Changed plugs but didnt start....so i have ordered a diagnostic tool and it wont be here for a week, any ideas? Is there a way to take away the eml light?.
    Just asking....

Make sure that the throttle body is plugged in all the way or at all. Also check icv connector.

I recommend a smoke test. You likely have a major vacuum leak.

Ill check the icv valve and clean it out. I made sure the throttle body connector was on and clicked in place...

Ok, so i recieved conflicting reports on how to hookup the vaccum lines on this car so what i have is from the right side of the motor it runs to the rear of the intake manifold, and then from the fpr to the line on top of the fuel rail and then to the ccv valve...which probobly isnt correct, so please help!!!

Marco, if you look at my last message, you can see my vacuum line hookup... please let me me know if that isnt correct...When I put the intake back on, it seemed that the hard plastic line that came from the right side of the motor was ran to the plastic line that was going under the car (fpr) and the fuel rail line just had bits of tubing on it and didn't go any where...and the back of the manifold didnt have anything on it... so there you go, I guess my question is did the hardlines go together and the manifold line hook up to the top of the fuel rail line? or please advise...

    Thanks....

    Craig

This car ran perfectly before i removed the intake, so it has to be something simple.....

Any codes? If you didn't plug something in there will likely be a code.

I did have a question, on the Purge control valve, on the valve itself, it has two pins and the plug has only one. Is that correct?

The single wire connector is for the oil pressure switch.

If you swapped the connectors for the purge valve and the oil pressure switch it is likely that you blew a fuse. Check the fuses in the e-box (module compartment)

Oil pressure switch is on the back of the oil filter housing. E-box is on passenger side near the firewall. It's the black box that the engine harness goes into. Take the cover off and there is a small fuse block inside.

The arrows should align when the connector is fully engaged. What are you asking about driver or passenger side?

Sorry it's the driver side I was thinking of a different car. Check the 5 fuses you found.
