What shocks are used in the E38's Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit?

So I'm looking at getting new shocks/struts for my 750iL, and I don't really care about maintaining EDC and SLS. I'm looking for a sportier ride, with lowering springs being necessary since I don't want wheel gap. I was pretty set on a Bilstein B6/lowering spring combo, but I came across the Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit, which would cost less than the B6s and lowering springs purchased separately.

Does anyone know what shocks the B12 Pro-Kit uses? Are they just B6s? I recall seeing some posts from Edwin about installing these on lots of cars in Europe, but I can't find any links now. Here's the purchase link: http://www.bimmerworld.com/Suspensio...46-189479.html

The kit is no longer available. Bilstein no longer makes it. The shocks in the kit were a b8 iirc.

Well I just bought them and they shipped out yesterday, so not sure on the NLA bit. And E38s never had B8s - only B6s and B4s. I did some research; pretty sure the B12 kit has B6 shocks. I'll verify via part number when I get them.

Gotta love it when people log into the forums to ask the community a question, don't get the answer so promise to give us the answer when their components arrive.....and then go totally silent.

Either way, I believe the kit does come with B6 dampers which are the same technology as the B8, but longer than the B8. I am interested in the B12 pro-kit for my 728i M-sport but the kit is listed for V8 models. My lightweight M52 might result in the front end riding a bit higher than it should...

Although, the dry mass of the M60 3.0 V8 is 175kg and the M52 2.8 is 163kg - so it's not a very big difference.

Sorry for the very delayed response, guys — I only found my own thread again when trying to find the part numbers for someone else because I'm selling my kit (it's sold now). Never got around to installing it, thinking I'll want to go with coilovers for more height adjustability. I'm in the NJ/NYC area if anyone is interested in buying it off me — all of the parts are still new.

Anyhow, the front strut is 35-041702. Rear is 24-021388.
