Quick engine air filter(s) replacement question

What needs to be disassembled on the airbox(es) to replace the air filters? 91' 850i.

I'm having a tough time and must be missing something simple.

Yep. It is simple once you know.

1. Loosen hose clamp (on air tube) that goes towards the MAF.

2. Un-clip metal clamp clips that hold the top of the air filter housing to the bottom of the air filter housing.

3. Lift up. Sometimes the air filter sicks in the top.

4. Vacuum out bottom of air filter box.

5. Check to see if rubber input connector to air filter box is completely rotten.
