    Tachometer Needle Jumps when Decelerating

Hello Everyone, new to the site. I just purchased a 2012 528i with 77k miles on it. I noticed that when i am decelerating and i am below 20 miles an hours the needle on the tachometer jumps before coming to a stop. Wondering if anyone has had this issue. Cant seem to find it online.

New to BMWs so not sure if this is normal.

What you are likely seeing is evidence of the transmission downshifting to first as it comes to a stop....

Thanks for the info. I was concerned that this may have been a issue I need to repair.
