I also found another complete front strut assembly from FCS on rockauto.com

    Part #'s: 1335835L, 1335835R

I'd save ~$60 going with the BOMPA in this scenario.
If your only going by price-then there is no regard for quality.

The recommendations from dhurley34 are all quality components,
the choice among them should be based on particular application & outcome you're attempting to achieve.

You will not find a better riding long lasting strut/shock for the price than the B4's on a daily driver.

Here's a random question. Why is going back to OEM suspension so much more expensive than those $200-$400 coilover kits on ebay that I'm 100% positive currently exists on my car?

I'll try to save up for Bilstein B4 suspension. Would it be much of an issue to do the rear suspension first (shock and spring) and adjust the front coilover's ride height to level out the car until I can afford to get the front suspension? Or would the difference in rigidity between the front and rear cause problems?

Simple answer: Quality/OEM vs counterfeit/imitation/EBay junk

Call or chat online with TurnerMS,
ask them to build you up a kit using the B4 shock/strut set,
as the foundation you want to build upon:https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...ks-struts-kit/
Give them an estimate of the time necessary to build up your funds,
and they can let you know when all components will be in stock to order.

That sounds like a fantastic idea, if I knew when I'd have to funds necessary, haha. But I will definitely try to do a live chat with TurnerMS to see what they can do for me. I definitely want a longer lasting and reliable suspension system. I definitely want to get at least another 100k miles out of this car.

To help with ride comfort, raise your coilovers to max height settings,
have an alignment check to see if #'s are within spec, tolerate the ride,
until the funds are on hand to place your order for quality replacements.
Have patience, you'll be glad you did at the end!

I will do my best. I need to get a couple of spanner wrenches now, haha. Maybe lessening the preload will help with ride-stiffness. I just watched a couple videos on adjusting coilovers and I think I understand the basics of it.

Just to update, I found an entire rear end suspension overhaul kit on FCPEuro's website, which is PERFECT for what I wanted to do to my car. It comes with all of the hardware I'll need to overhaul the rear end suspension. The only real difference is that it uses Sachs struts and then heavy duty Suplex springs. Since the "kit" is literally just a convenience factor on their site and not like a "packaged deal" price, I'm going to rebuild the kit on their site, minus the springs, so I can save a little money and go with Bilstein B3 springs instead of the Suplex heavy duty ones in the kit. This way, I save about $57 and still get OEM ride performance and ride height from the rear end. The Bilstein B3 springs (both sides) I'm getting from CarID.com for $79.08 ($88.82 w/ shipping) versus the $73.29 per Suplex heavy duty spring ($146.58 for 2 of them). Below is a link to the "kit" I'm referring to.

    Kit: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...plex-06164kit2
    Springs: https://www.carid.com/2002-bmw-3-ser...177148858.html

Now I just need to do the same deal with the front end suspension and I'll be on the right track to restoring my car's suspension to how it's supposed to be. If anyone can find the same springs for cheaper somewhere else, I'll be happy to go there instead. I doubt I'll find anywhere else with cheaper rear end struts (Bilstein B4 struts are about $90-$100 per). I'll probably finalize the ordering some time during this week for the rear suspension. Gotta save some more for the front suspension. Any recommendations are always welcome.

If you want to go that route,
how about rebuilding both their F & R kits on their site:
    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...chs-e46frontxi
    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...rear-556882kt1
minus the front and rear shocks/struts, substituting the Turner kit in their place?
Install whatever OEM style springs you choose.

That front kit looks to be what I want, but I'll substitute the B6's for Sachs or B4's to save money, and then use B3 springs like I will in the rear.

That rear kit doesn't include the upper/lower spring pads in that link, where mine does. Hence the price difference. I suppose I could attempt to re-use the pads that already exist in the car, but I'll probably be much safer to just replace them since the previous owner fucked up the rear driver side strut. Pics related. (rear driver side)

The strut in the first picture is touching the arm holding the spring, and it's got that rusty looking gap below the pink adjusting ring. The other side has no gap below the ring, and there's space between the arm and the strut. The second pic illustrates the fact that the piston is going up on an angle into the mount, which leads me to believe the mount is either broken off inside the trunk-space or the piston itself is fucked. I'll have to further investigate. Pics below are to compare. (rear passenger side)

I'm hoping the mounting area is still fine and didn't break the body of the car at all. I "want" the piston to be fucked up, basically lol. Since the car is so low to the ground, there really wasn't a way for me to check out this stuff before buying the car.
