Hi all, This is my first time posting on here. Thank you in advance for any replies!
I own an 02 BMW 325i with standard 10 spk stereo system and I just want to replace
the subs in the rear deck.I believe the two front tweeters, two rear door tweeters, and
2 mid ranges should be fine. Can anyone guide me through on what speakers i should
get , what I am going to have to do, and Do I need a new amp?
Bav sound they make direct fit speakers
Problem with e46 sound system isn't the speaker, but the weak oe amp, unless the speakers are damage, try amping it with an aftermarket amp, active. You'll be surpised how much better stock speakers sound.

Thank you @asianvenom and @jclausen
my rear deck subs have a tear around the
whole thing so I’m assuming it’s that one
but overall I’m looking for a good replacement
and a new amp.
Be advised that the factory amp contains the crossovers. So, if you install an aftermarket amp you’ll have to install crossovers. Btw, crossovers split the audio signal into frequency bands so that each speaker gets the audio frequencies it’s designed to handle. Also, the factory head unit output signals are “balanced differential” and not the typical RCA line level signals. So the aftermarket amp has to be able to handle those signals. I installed a JL 400/4 amp. Most JL amps will handle balanced differential signals.
I said "active", use a 4 channel amp, power your front mid woofers, and tweeters (or your stock subs). Leave the stock amp to power the rest of the stock speakers. You will notice an improvent.
