How do you replace an e21 exhaust flange gasket

I have a 1983 BMW 320i and a bought a new exhaust flange gasket, but I don't know how to replace

The round dounaght looking thing? Remove the three nuts holding the pipe to the manifold, lower the exhaust a bit, remove the old gasket and put the new one in. Tighten it back up

Those are the easiest gaskets ever... dont know why the e30 went with that donut.
