    P1478 Re-Post wrong code prior post

    Hi all. Been a while.

    Anyway, got a P1478 this afternoon. I don’t think it is the gas cap, given the odd smell of half-burned fuel coming out from under the hood. Intermitent misfiring in low gear under load. Probably a cracked old BMW-cheap-rubber/plastic hose leaking somewhere in the evap loop under the hood I am guessing.

    Anybody gone through this repair? Or have a diagram of the fuel evap system? Thinking about the “seriality” of the way these cars throw errors and parts break downs... Where would you start? EGR? Intake boot?

    Many thanx in advance for any suggestions/ideas/experiences.
