Is it possible to install RWD engine on a AWD E90?

I have a 2008 BMW 335xi 3.0L AWD Auto and engine is toasted.
I found a used engine but it is RWD.
According to the seller all it needs to be done is replace the oil pan from old engine and put it on RWD one.
    Is it possible?
Also, according to him it doesn't matter if the engine was taken off from an auto or manual transmission.
Not sure if he is trying to pull a sale or legit.

I haven't done it on an E90, but that's what I would expect to have to do for the engine swap.

I was wondering if other parts need to be replaced too, like oil pump.

Typically the oil pickup gets replaced with an oil pan swap, but I can't confirm. You'll have it to pull off the old engine anyway, right?

Yes, old engine will be pulled off. We ll use whatever needed from old engine harness etc. I ll also take fuel injectors&coils&sparks from old engine for back up. Basically, old engine will be taken apart and working parts will be either sold or kept as back up.

Also, one other question. Does it matter if it is from a Auto or manual transmission? Mine is auto. Both transmissions use same engine so I m guessing it should be fine. ??? Thanks again.
