BMW x5 e53 3.0d trans fail safe help

New here need help. Don't no where to post I have a bmw 2002 x5 e53 3.0d auto keep getting the trans fail safe
I have replaced the steering angle sensor as the fault wouldn't delete now it's won't changeout of 1st gear

Steering angle sensor codes do not typically store in the EGS (transmission computer). What codes do you have in the DME, the EGS, the transfer case, and the ABS?

Steering angle sensor codes are most often cleared by turning the steering wheel full left and then full right, unless the front end is out of alignment.

The steering angle sensor was broke I took it apart and the little metal bits where broken and replace the yaw rate sensor
