Battery flatlined and I didn't catch it in time, so the car seems to be in "Transport Mode" based on the anemic blower speed and the AC not working. Drives just fine, otherwise.
Based on the cost of tools (scanners, programs, etc.), it's seeming more cost effective to just let the local stealer reset it.
I haven't looked at any competent indies around the area, but I'm more of a DIY'er anyway.
'Spose it would be worth picking up what I need, since this car is in the family for life.

I've got an USB-OBDII cable, and a suitable laptop, but easyDIS is nowhere to be found anymore.
Are the "copies" on eBay trustworthy?

Just to close this out for future searches, I ordered a cable/software bundle for $35 from Bulgaria and it arrived and it allowed me to use DIS v57 to successfully delete transport mode. Everything is now back to normal. Well worth the wait as I now also can run diagnostics in greater detail should other issues arise.

I'm curious as well. Can we get complete details?
TIA
I went searching for the link, but it seems he's sold out. This was the product title: BMW USB OBD Diagnostic cable INPA Ediabas BMW DIS v57 SSS v32 GT1
It took 20 days to get to me in Texas from Sofia, Bulgaria, so not too bad.
Came with all the instructions for a clean install, very clear and easy to do. With a good laptop, install time shouldn't be too long for unpacking the Virtual Machines for use with VMWare which is included. I used a 2011 MacBook Pro running Windows 7 on a bootcamp partition and it worked beautifully.
Started up DIS and ran the diagnostics, saw the Transport Mode error, did a quick delete, and that was that!
