Anyone have experience with a 323i center muffler delete?

The center muffler/resonator on my 323i is pretty rusty and appears to be the main source of my exhaust leak. However, my rear mufflers are in great condition. I was wondering if anyone has an audio clip or experience with doing straight pipes or some other replacement for the center section since I don't want my summer daily driver to be much louder than it currently is with the leaky stock exhaust. The only new bolt-in replacement I've found is the Supersprint unit, which is out of my price range.

I might have access to a decent center section, and can check on its condition this weekend, if interested.

yea, but that shipping might get you, that's for certain. Every time I go to that site, I always consider just buying one big order and dealing with one shipping price, vs buying what I need and having to handle multiple orders.

DHL shipping is usually pretty cheap and I don’t think this section is very large. $50-60 for shipping maybe?

There are straight sections of pipe before and after the resonator right? I forget what it looks like Run a straight pipe here for awhile and if it’s too loud and drone-y you can add a Magnaflow or Borla resonator to tone it down.

It's 49 euros and you get it in two days. Can't beat that.

I ran my 323i with the center resonater deleted and stock mufflers.
I thought I sounded good and was not to loud .

I ran it for a few years with a magnaflow dual in dual out cat in place of the resonater. For ca smog , sounded good and smelled good too.

I didn't even think to check W&N. I'm surprised the entire early 323i system is still available. Going to have to see if my flanges and hardware come apart intact before I buy bolt-on parts.

Thanks for the input. I'll probably chop out whatever isn't airtight anymore and run straight pipes in the middle just to fix the leak for now and see how I like it. Did you do an x/h pipe in the middle or keep the pipes independent?
