Hi everyone,
Last weekend I did a timing belt on my E30. After getting a new water pump and a new OEM hose that goes from the pump to the expansion tank installed, it was leaking at the pump. Anyone know if any tricks or have any advise on how to get the hose to seal good? Its a steady drip off the hose right were it connects to the pump, and the clamp appears to be tight.

Well make sure you have the hose and clamp positioned properly. The waterpump should have ribs on the outlet pipe, and normally I like use a little bit of coolant on the hose to allow it to seat all the down. Typically there should be about a full inch that goes into the hose, and I like to place the hose clamp about half an inch from the end.
Now to ensure the hose is tight, try to twist it a little. Will it move? Also are both parts OE or OEM? Same manufacturer? I have seen some aftermarket parts say they are OE/OEM quality and not be the truth.
