bi-xenon and the "check headlight" warning

How do you tell the system to stop "pulsing" the lights to see if they're functioning? I know I've read about it before but I can't recall where and I'm apparently not using the correct search terms.

    Here you go.

Search for "pa soft ncs expert headlight check"

I don't have my headlight check turned off since I have oem lights, but I have used ncs expert modify my "Follow me home" lighting to add fogs and reverse light (shut off headlights), eliminate seatbelt gong, enable windows up with FOB, changed hazards to double flash. It's pretty handy.

For those of you who have done HID conversions without turning off the "check" feature, have you have any issues with it pulsing the ballasts? I'm really not too concerned about it "blinking" when it checks the lights, I just don't want to end up with the ballasts being damaged as a result of the pulsing.

My '99 only had the halogen lights and when I installed a pair of pre-facelift xenon assemblies, I only got a "check low beams" error on the cluster display. No pulsing... The easiest way to fix was with PA Soft bmw scanner 1.4.0, which has pages for all modules it scans for and finds in the car. It allowed me to configure the LCM so that it would expect to see xenon low beams. You can also use it to turn off hot and cold checks for other lights, including LED lighting if you install that.
