I need to figure this out so I was told that the purple relay which is on the very left of the 3 relays there. I replaced it and lots of bad things happened now I read in a electrical manual that that relay I changed thinking it was the fuel pump relay it says its the secondary air fuel pump and the middle one is the fuel pump relay in later models. Can anyone help me figure out if I'm using the right replacement fuel pump relay in the right spot or not? He's some photos. Thanks also the relay missing was purple.

page 0670.0-00 shows the 3 relays in question, from left to right
K6304 secondary air pump relay ( M3, 328i)
K6301w fuel pump relay
K6300 engine control module relay
your VIN says EK24169 318i Sedan, USA version, built 06/1997, automatic transmission, M44 engine
So if I understand that right, only M3 and 328i have this K6304 ?

I am not sure man I'm trying to figure this out I was told the English ones have the secondary air pump as well because of emissions in USA. I'm not sure if this is correct or not what does this relay even do?
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm very confused as shogun said its for m3 and 328 only but I have a m44 engine? I just don't wanna have to replace that wire again...
