SOLD!
Getting a jump on spring cleaning and have a very rare set of early 3 piece Simmons OM17 wheels for sale. Simmons is an Australian wheel company that has made forged multi-piece wheels for several decades. I purchased these 5 or 6 years ago and ran them on my weekend car 1999 M3. They did see some Auto-x and a few track weekends. They look fantastic especially if you clean them up.
Details:
- 17x8.5 ET38 - I ran 235 and 245 tires with zero rubbing
- 5x120 bolt pattern
- All balance out fine. I believe there is a slight bend in one of the lips, but without a tire on it I wasn't able to locate it. Has been that way for the 6 years I owned them, never gave me an issue.
- In all honesty, they are pretty dirty and could use a deep clean, polish, and some paint to bring them back, I just don't have the time. You can see in the pictures where there is brake dust baked onto the lips. The painted faces also have some rub marks/scratches and there is a bit of curb rash on one, with a few knicks here and there on the lips of the others.
- Two of them slowly leak air. They've been in my garage for awhile, but last I recall it would leak out maybe 5-8psi over the coarse of a couple weeks if the car sat still. Never bothered diagnosing it.
My goal was to break them apart, get them dipped/cleaned/polished, and then reassembled with new hardware to have a really killer set of rare wheels. But I sold the 1999 M3 last year and just don't have the interest, so time for them to have a new home. They are a >$2500 set of wheels new. You could either run these as-is and have a good set of 5 footer wheels, or put some elbow grease into them and have something special.
Located in Atlanta, GA but I will ship, have some wheel boxes ready to go.
