    INPA for OBD1 E36 M3 US help

I have INPA on win7 and have it working good on my e53 X5, later one with the 3.0..

I have the OBD2 plug and the round plug adapter that fits my 95 M3, but I plug it all into the M3 and it doesn't do anything..
I clicked everything and tried it all sorts of ways but I don't think it's communicating at all period.. Won't even tell me the ignition is on..

Now I know I need to do a lot of reading and not just be spoonfed the whole ordeal but if one of you smart fellers could give me a little rundown of what else I need to do o make my instalation work with my M3 also that would be great..
Do I also need to install something for the round adapter or what?

    Thanks in advance..

Can you post a picture of your ODB to 20 Pin adapter?

On my laptop, I have to choose if I am going to use ODB or ADS(20 pin), so it knows which driver to use. If I launch ODB, it will not allow communication using the 20 pin.

    Ebay INPA kit..

    What windows are you using?
Maybe I don't have the ADS stuff since I installed it according to a tutorial from xoutpost?

I use it on my buddy's early e46 with the round plug, and it works fine. What I seem to recall is that you need to jump a pin in the interface so it reads data. My obd 2 round plug adaptor has that jump built into it. Maybe yours does not? Something about the K-line or something, can't remember, but try searching for that info.
