Where do the battery vents go in the trunk and how are they attached?

I have been having problem with some rust in the boot as I have no battery wents in the trunk
I ordered all the parts needed, but have no Idea where to mount them to the car.
How are they mounted, where do they go and how far do the rubber hoses go to the car. Do you maybe have pics of how it is all mounted?

There’s a hole in the front side of the compartment where each battery is mounted with a little grommet in it. This the one on the passenger side. See where the grey rubber line (battery vent line) runs. The driver side is the same.

How far down does that line go?

Like out of the vehicle. I’m not sure where it goes from there I’d have to get under and look.

I suspect the vent tubes exit just above the muffler cans and may be the cause of the stock cans rotting out. Planning to replace complete exhaust system later this week.

Until it exits the sheet metal on the underside of the battery tray - right above the mufflers (as already stated). It sticks out about 1/4" -3/8" (6mm-8mm, for you metric guys)
