    E38 resurrection- exhaust manifold gaskets

    Hi all, yes still plodding along with the beast...

    can someone advise which way the exhaust gaskets go! One side is shiny smooth metal, the other side has your more typical gasket material bonded on! Does the smooth gasket free surface face the engine or the exhaust manifold?
