Sounds like an automatic. First thing to do is top off the fluid. It's not a simple task because there is not dipstick or fill tube. You have to raise the car LEVEL, I use a bubble level on the trans pan. The car has to be fully warmed up, go through the gears (don't spin tires), put it in Park or Neutral. Note that the fill bolt can be very tight, so be prepared for that. Also you should really have a new crush washer for the fill bolt. If that does fix the problem, then thats great, but you should then plan to drop the pan and replace the filter. If it doesn't fix the problem, then dropping the pan to check for metal chips and change the filter. If you drop the main pan then it's wise to also drop the small pan (to get as much old fluid out as possible). Also buy the filter as a kit because it comes with new pan bolts and gaskets. Be careful with the pan bolts, when you install them, take your time because the aluminum is soft and it's easy to strip a thread.
