Okay so I recently had my engine tore apart due to a bottom end rebuild/inspection. When I put it back together I swapped my stock cam out with a m54b30 cam. I used the timing tool to set the timing and I still keep getting a cam position code. My car is a 2000 BMW 528i sport with the m52tu28 (dual vanos m52 correct me if that's not the tu). It has a head off a 2004 330xi, cheap ebay headers/muffler delete, ac delete, cvv delete (catch can coming soon). Will be doing a m54b30 intake swap soon as well I just wanna figure out the timing code first. Sorry if I'm missing something simple I'm learning as I go. Code is p1519 also I haven't had the chance to fix an o2 port on my cheap headers yet so I'm missing my front upstream o2. Could that be causing the cam position Code?
Research shows tgat it’s likely a VANOS issue. Has the VANOS been overhauled? Try Dr Beisan for parts and very thorough instructions.
