2000 E46 instrument panel stalk problem

I was changing the time using the right side stalk on my instrument panel, but found it difficult to get traction when turning. Anyone have this issue? Not sure if I can replace the stalk or if the problem is with the instrument panel itself.

The stalk has little arms that often break. Its a dumb design, but that's the case in your situation. The solution is to buy a spare cluster, disassemble it, and replace yours with the stock from the spare. Careful they are very brittle.

Is that the only way to set the time? Dang. Too much trouble.

You can set it using e.g NavCoder.

I do not have a BMW nav. Does that matter?

Go to E46Fanatics and search there. Someone there has a solution other than a second clustet.
