I have been chasing a "repeated wake up" issue on the '07 B7. Running diagnostics last night, GT1 came back with a power module error (I forget the actual error, something @ 30u etc) and directed me to go to ISTA and look for 610105125. Well,, it turns out my ancient diagnostic laptop doesn't have ISTA on it (old WinXP box).
So, Anyone have ISTA and would be willing to look up this doc? I am working on obtaining a new diagnostic system that would have this.
Bill
My power module error turned out to be the IVM (Integrated Voltage Module) It was around $115 from BMW and took about 10 minutes to replace.
Get yourself the INPA and a BMW INPA K+DCAN cable for the OBD II port, and you can easily do all this. I run it on a windows 10 laptop, and it works flawlessly. Hooked it up to the B7 this morning to read a fault code (turns out the wastegate solenoid plug wasn't fully seated), saved a couple of hours of trial and error.
Go to eBay and look for this seller: dldaiceman very nice guy, helped me with some installation questions. The cord is also readily available on eBay.

I have INPA, it wont connect to the Alpina's engine. May be older Datens as it's on an XP Laptop.
FWIW, I replaced the IVM in Dec, new part from BMW. Had the no-start, random electrical errors. All those went away.
The version I bought (info listed above) is current and can be installed on a regular Laptop - mine is 3 years old - no problems with connectivity to the ALPINA, and has come in handy to check a lot of things.

Update, Fuel filter replaced.
It's better, but still getting random misfires. New code points to #8 coil.
Trying to source a "spare" Win7 laptop to install the suite TxGR8White suggested (Ty sir).
I put it on my everyday laptop, works great.
