    Convertible top not folding down completely

    The soft top on my 1990 vert won't fold all the way into the storage compartment. This is a pic of what it's doing. It's something simple, right?

    Appears that only the canvas top is not folding like it does when fairly new. Looks like what mine tries to do. About 6" before top is all the way down, stuff the protruding fold back into the top. I don't know what causes it but no big deal to stuff it back in.

    If you notice just as the top becomes vertical before folding back there is a bar that flips back; usually when the straps become old the bar is suppose to pull the fabric back instead of what you have appearing in your picture. Just lift the top back up to vertical flip the bar back and tuck that material in (folding in not out) then drop the top into the compartment. That should solve your problem. At bit of a pain but it works..
