    Did you made sure it has the brown wire in the middle? That might be the culprit.

    Sorry, I wan't saying the aux fan failed to come on. It didn't come on because the aftermarket fan did a good job of cooling the radiator. Even though the two fan switches are close in value, the inline switch seems to respond quicker. With this system, the aux fan should only come on if the aftermarket fan is not sufficient (at say 120 deg in Phoenix), or when the AC is on.
