    Power Steering Return Hoses

My M70 Pump return hoses are leaking from the crimped end. It looks like 37131159544 is NLA.

Does anyone have a recommendation or alternative?

I’m looking to purchase/replace the two hoses in red on the attached image.

Both are non high pressure hydraulic hoses, I replaced them with 20 bar fuel, oil, diesel resistant hoses, removed the crimped parts, re-used the metal part and it works well on my E32 750 and also on my E36 M3. Feed and return lines.
The instructions for the M3 are here from NJBMWCCA http://njbmwcca.org/wp/wp-content/up..._HOSE_Rev0.pdf
Same procedure, quite common on M3 to do it that way. Here pics where we made it on my M3 with the power steering cooling line http://e32b12.blogspot.jp/2013/03/e3...-oil-leak.html

And if you need to make nice hose bends, Unicoil is your friend http://www.jegs.com/p/Gates/Gates-Un...43357/10002/-1
Unicoil allows you to configure custom-bent hoses using straight hose. The Unicoil is made of a stainless steel and features a metal spine that will permanently hold its bend.

Thank you Shogun for the reference. I ordered the hoses from Bav Auto but I expect to get an email tomorrow that they are not available. If that’s the case I’ll go the route you prescribed.

Looks like the hose is available through the dealers, like www.scorebmwparts.com, at $163.51 ea.

More than $300 for 2? I fixed it with my hoses + hose clamps for less than $20

Yeah, there are definitely much cheaper alternatives, especially for the low pressure hoses. I have also used local industrial hydraulic hose shops to make up new hoses for me that were much cheaper than oem.

One tip i learned is to use fuel injection style claps in place of the standard screw type. They seal better and almost never strip.

I like using a 'lined worm gear clamp', available from Grainger's:
    http://idealtridon.com/aftermarket/lined-clamps/

Liner prevents notches from cutting into rubber or silicone hose.

I like to use Oetiker clamps for a nice OEM look... Buying a kit and a tool was the best addition to my tool chest in a long time.

The low pressure hoses are easy to replace, and much cheaper. Here is what I did
    1. Remove the hoses,
    2. Take a dremel tool and carefully remove that outer metal covering on the ends. Use a disk and remove the bell shaped cover. Cut a groove in them carefully, and then open them up with a screw driver. Be careful, but easy to do
    3. Go to your closest auto parts store and buy some hoses like Shogun said above
    4. Use new clamps, clamp onto the OEM ends you took off, and there you go.

I used the same style clamps recently on complete fuel system from tank to rails.
