Yup. Fits nicely where the stock fuel filter was.

I am going to upgrade the system, but all I did on my build was put the C5 regulator in place of stock filter, run -6 up to LS3 rail, and put a Walbro 460 in the tank. Made 504whp on E85, ran the car the entire season like that. Stock lines. Your way is better.

The reason I went with two pumps was to combat fuel starvation issues on the track. This may be overdone a bit, but there will always be fuel being pumped to both sides, either by the stock fuel pump or the return line to the DS.

You didn't overdo it at all, I had to run almost 3/4 tank for it not to starve in right handers.

Not much progress recently. I have been busy with the holidays and picking this up on a fly-and-drive. Made it through 850 miles like it was brand new. Gosh, I love these things.

As far as looks go, that color, door, wheel combo may be the best in bread.
Don't tell me it's a slick top also.

Unfortunately not. It did have the factory contour wheels on it which I immediately switched out for the LTWs I had in the attic.

So, uh, got the car finished. I have more time on my hands while WFH, so figured I would check on this thread. No movement, ha.<br>

First I've seen your thread - surprised, but now realize you posted this not in the Engine Swap section! (where I hang out)

Very clean build and interesting aspects.

    Kudos!

    E36's are becoming rare!

That car is sooo clean. I love it. Did you stick with the 285s in the front? I don't see the front flares on there.

    Thanks, guys.

No, I ended up going with 255's of 9" wheels up front. I really didn't want to cut my fenders to make the 285's fit, plus the added stress on the wheel bearings, etc.

I tried to get this thread moved to the engine swap forum, but didn't get a response from the mods.

    Plenty of steering input angle:

While waiting on my driveshaft to be fixed (yoke was leaking), I decided to make a fan shroud for my radiator. I don't know why Mishimoto's isn't sealed, it's worse than factory. First time making something like this and I think it came out well considering I don't have a welder. Made it through some layoffs so I may snag a mig/tig combo.

Sealed around the edges w/ some aluminum tape to ensure all air flows through the radiator.

First I am seeing of this build, too. Very nice!

Kind of a side note, but may I ask what you did about your A/C setup? (I am trying to get my lines sorted out now.)

I'm not running A/C. Goal was to get the car on the road and enjoy it. I will probably add A/C sometime this summer though. I'm not sure which compressor I will be using; I think I can use the GM, BMW, or an aftermarket. I haven't researched it much, obviously. Let me know if you figure out your a/c system.

I reached the same decision last year, viz., get the car on the road late last summer sans A/C, and let the A/C be the project for this spring.

Sure, I'll let you know how my attempt turns out. I wrote up what was turning into a mini-threadjack here, so I decided to post it on my own build thread instead, and just give the link here: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...7#post30472687

It's funny how quick the shallow end becomes the deep end. I was reading your thread last night but got too tired and went to bed. It will be reading while I recover from my morning run.

Something I may have to do is to add flaps to the shroud. That was air flow isn't restricted at high speeds where the fan doesn't flow enough air. Simple rubber flaps, or similar, should do that trick.

I must say, it didn't strike me that the shroud as you built it was going to help. To me, it looks like it will restrict airflow, not help. Yes, with your shroud, all the air that goes through the fan will go through the radiator, but ONLY that air will go through the radiator.

I confess I do not know any of this for sure -- just seat of the pants.

It is to help out with idling. So, at a low speed, you are pulling air through 100% of your radiator, not just where your fan is located. I'm assuming it restricts it at speeds about 30 mph or so.

I have some testing to do this week and as temps are going to get near 90, it should give me some good data.

I see. In that case, can you stand it off from the radiator a little? To create some room for airflow from the shrouded area to the fan?
