at 6,245 rpms you will have roughly 16.8psig of pressure and around 45lb/hr of air flow, therefore your theoretical horsepower, depending on current day conditions, (humidity, temperature, pressure, gearing, operator, fuel temp, drive train loss, oil temp, ignition timing, afr, fuel type) will vary between 350whp and 750whp. +/-25%. However with stock injectors you will be at 245hp +/- 25%

    How to turbo your car:
Step one. Install ecu and learn to tune and or have it tuned.
Step two. Install injectors and retune.
Step three. Install turbo parts and bits. get it running with out leaks. DO NOT DRIVE IT. Idling should be ok
    Step four. Retune car
    Step five enjoy

Silbur, I'd bet for sure 500whp. I'm on pump gas cutring combo making 620whp. It is an S52 though.

    And, stock motor?
Also, at what rpm, so I can calculate torque?

That turbo is an........ interesting choice. Though judging from what a real GT3582R does, you'll easily be in 500whp club.

Butters made 500whp on a similar setup with 17-18psi:

So there's no reason you wouldn't be at 550-600whp with a decent tune. S52 or aftermarket cams would help too.

My peak numbers were 620whp @ 5700 and 580wtrq @ 5275. Pump gas, stock engine, schrick cams. Thats it, shit ton of fuel, 62psi fuel pressure on 60lb injectors, so rich I'm leaking fuel past the rings but I change my oil every 1200 miles so who cares.

It was an eBay buy, I really didn’t know what to expect. General consensus seems to be that they can either be really good, or fail miserably.

    Here’s the specs:

    Kompressor:
    82mm exducer
    61mm inducer

    Turbine:
    62.23mm exducer
    68mm inducer
    AR 0.63

Claims to be good to 600 hp. However, a real GT35r compressor map shows efficiency drop off at about 450 hp and 1.5 bar. Obviously that’s crank hp. My original goal was 400 wheel, but I thought with all the money and time I’ve spent fabricating etc, why not go for broke?? I picked up a spare M52 block and bought an S52 crank from a member here, so plan B is either a 3.0L stroker or M3 pistons/rods with a bore.

I’ve spent the last few weeks chasing oil leaks: oil pan, forgot to vent the crank case, and timing cover oil drain return, didn’t install the bulkhead fitting correctly. I welded it this time

Hopefully the cars back on the road soon. Thx for all the input guys.

Damn. I’m impressed. What lambda and spark?
I’m thinking you have a efficient setup.

Wait.... Guys- I'm hoping to make a turbo build that has a conservative 350whp tune, but has a reliable 450whp capability. what would I need to build a (estimated 450whp build that I could drive at 350-375 and absolutely beat the piss out if it (my m54b30 330i is a drift car.)

Long story short, I'd want a SUPER reliable 350 tune (or just ability to limit boost?) to run before I have a caged chassis, and then once I have the power, I'll be building a caged wagon to swap the driveline into. with the added weight, I figure I'll want a little more, and want to build the turbo kit with that in mind. Should I be seriously going into it knowing I should be opening the motor and refreshing the bottom end? Or will it be fine at 400-450?

I'm not the most knowledgeable about turbo builds yet.

My current plan is pretty much cutring gasket but no spacer, ARP studs, injectors, and I'm not knowledgeable enough on turbos to know what turbo or A/R I'd be looking at yet. Want something quick spooling, and I'm not looking to make 600wheel or anything, just enough to have a super fun, tandem capable with the LS guys, reliable car drift car.
