    Catalytic Converter Scrap Prices

It probably doesn't get talked about allot, but do we have any scrappers in the group that buy catalytic converters?

Thankfully in Arkansas there isn't an inspection or any smog compliance requirements. I have a few I'd like to sell and get some money out of to fund my project. I've lost all my contacts that I have sold to in the past.

I am posting in this section because they are from e36 M3s

I actually haven't ever sold any to a scrapyard before. I had a great contact that actually refined them himself so he paid allot, but I lost his contact.

I've shipped mine to converterguy and his prices seem reasonable, but I haven't really shopped around much to get other quotes.

How would one get in touch with this converterguy? I've never heard of him before

I put a pair of M3 cats on ebay last spring, think I got around $125 plus shipping for them.

Nice!! I might try that. I'd be happy with $125. I know the prices fluctuate so i'll try it and see what happens

For OBDII oem cats my regular guy gives me 50 each, for OBDI he gives 60 each. Where I live you need a license to sell cars to the recyclers, so you must sell to a middleman. Took me years to find someone who would not try and screw me. Lol

That does seem to be the going rate right now. It's funny how the honeycomb is more desirable.

Luckily here you don't even have to have a title to scrap a car. I'm sure that will change soon but so far it's been a blessing

You are so lucky...no title here results in this....even after cutting it up more than in this picture you still have to hide the pieces of car amongst other scrap metal so they cant see it. Lol total pain in the ass
