What in the world? How does one of these start leaking? As you can tell, i have never had to mess with one, ever. How do i get this thing out?

These are not really freeze plugs but core plugs used when the engine is made. Quite common and easy fix if you can get to it and can drive the new one straight. Use a screw driver to remove the old in or puncture. It will probably turn sidewise then you can grab it. Place the new one up to the hole and using a socket the size of the inner ring, drive it straight into where the old one was and to same depth. If you can't get at it then they have rubber ones like some thermos bottle lids. Usually they fail because the coolant system was not maintained. Some engines have them on the back, those are the hard ones. Maybe part # 11111714712

this one is the easiest to get to, luckily. its right by the thermostat housing and I bet it failed because the previous owners only used hose water in the cooling system. the head had corroded through from the water channel to the combustion chamber.
thanks for the instruction
