DIS v44 "Communication Between Unit and Diagnostic Head is Impaired" Error 200.159

Hi all,

I've been trying to get EasyDis set up for a while now and I seem to have hit a wall with this error:

Communication between operating unit and diagnostic head is impaired.

Fault number: 200.159

I've got INPA and Ediabas working on my machine just fine with a USB-OBDII cable but I can't get DIS to talk to the cable. I've spent several hours trying to find a fix but I keep running into references to dead links or files on the 4shared repo that don't seem to exist.

What I've pulled together so far:

1. I need to run ifhsrv32.exe before starting the VMware machine (I still get the same error with or without this)
2. I may need to change some settings in the windows ediabas.ini AND the DIS ediabas.ini (What settings need to be changed? How do I access the UNIX command line in DIS?)
3. The bars at the top of the DIS window indicate whether or not your connection is working. (What should they look like when working?)

Anyway, any guidance here would be GREATLY appreciated.

In DIS, the addresses 192.168.68.30 are registered; 31, 32? Access to the command line seems to be Ctr + PrtScr. The built-in head emulator in Easy dis must be turned on manually, or use DiagHeadEmulator.exe

Ive made a ton of progress, and now I'm so damn close I can almost taste success here. I've got my Ediabas.ini configured on both the computer and DIS side, and have both sets of bars lighting up at the top. I'm now getting error 200.152, which seems to be related to using a version of Ediabas above 6.4.7, but THIS IS the version I'm using, according to Ediabas.ini and version.txt in my Ediabas directory.

Help!
