Anyone have or aware of a full-metal solution for the e36 coolant expansion tank coolant level sensor? It’s about the only plastic piece that doesn’t have a metal solution, and just realized mine has developed a leak that was harder to track down than it should have been...
I already have a Mishimoto aluminum tank and Radiator, just looking to iron out weak points! Yeah I know they are cheap but metal>plastic and I’ve had freaking terrible luck with my cooling system.
Thanks!
Oh yeah had also considered going with a euro style or e30 tank as the sensor is up top so no leaks, plus it’s further away from engine and rad. Decisions, decisions....

I have had a Euro tank for 10 years. Never a problem but you do need to install it correctly which means buying the euro pipe and hose and mounting parts. Some just use rubber hose and I did for a while but it it is a risk and not ideal. The euro pipe does not fit the US engine perfectly behind the head. It can be a pain to adapt.
