    330i Automatic shift handle repair

My shift handle has a tear in the plastic covering. The car was previously owned by a lady with a bunch of jewelry that scratched the shift handle. I am curious if anyone has removed the shift handle and taken the handle itself a part so it could get a cosmetic repair. Its pretty trivial but I want to see if it is designed to be dismantled or if the fix will need to be done without taking it apart. I am capable of making repair but others experience would be appreciated.
