    2005 525i Transmission fault.

So i bought this 2005 Bmw 525i about a month ago with some minor issues. First issue is that the active steering fault keeps coming on same as the passenger saftey restraint. a couple days later the transmission fault became an issue. Id shut the car off it would return back to normal as long as i didnt punch the gas. shortly after a multitude of times it came on i found out about the adaptive reset which i did. i drove last night top a buddies house perfectly fine and a couple hours later i went to leave and the light came on again. no matter what i do it wont go off and now wont shift out of 2 or 3 stays at a high rpm. anyone have this problem???

I would attempt a fluid and filter change first...if no positive results,
then a BMW diagnostic scan for BMW specific codes,
followed by posting back here with results.

I'm having the same issue with my 04 bmw 525i. When I drive a bit and put my car in park, it throws my car in fault. Sometimes u have to wait a hour at the most. Before it starts again or if I take the battery loose for a min. I was wondering it you fix the problem. I broughy a scanner that only lasted a day. Before I had to send it back because it was detected. It stated my neutral safety switch was fault. Hell naw trying to locate it is a hassle, because I purchased a new on.

Don't throw money at it until you know what's wrong. Fluid and a filter won't fix anything if there's a bad seal, clutches totally gone, solenoids sticking or jammed, broken drum or band, etc.

Your first step is ALWAYS a proper diagnosis scan with competent BMW diagnostic equipment. There are fault codes. They will tell you what is wrong. It's not rocket science. Don't just guess at it.
