    Nav/TV update?

    Hi,

I recently bought a 330Ci from 2000. It's fitted with its original nav system (software version 3-1/10).
The map is outdated, the TV can't receive our TV signal of today and the telephone only works with an old Motorola telephone.

I would like to update the map, make the TV work again and use my iPhone via bluetooth in the car.

I'm not interested in any aftermarket nav system, I would like to keep it as original as possible.

But I'm afraid the nav system is using CD - and the latest update of these were apparently 2013.
So do I need to/can I update my nav computer to a more recent version?

You can install the later wide screen display and DVD based nav computer but it is still basically the same 20 year old technology except all of the maps are on one disc. Technology has advanced a lot since the 90s. Are you familiar with the dynavin head units? I know you said you want to keep it original but a dynavin unit has everything you are looking for. It's plug and play so you don't have to cut any wires. You will have to run an extension cable from the original radio in the trunk up to the dash but nothing needs to be cut or modified so if you choose to reinstall the oem nav it is not a problem. The oem appearance of a dynavin looks much better than a typical aftermarket unit. It is the best way to update the nav without ruining the look of the dash or cutting up the car. I would consider it.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
I already have the widescreen - will it only be the computer in the trunk I need to replace then?

.. and furthermore, are BMW still updating the maps for this system?
