Mine clunks all the damn time. I am not convinced the MCSs are to blame though, so I'm not going to speculate until I've finished Project OE-Rubber-All-The-Things. I've removed and replaced everything except for the poly bushings and spherical RTABs at this point, so...they're the last of the suspects.
I will echo that the clunking volume was reduced going from GC Spherical RSM to GC Poly RSM, but that the clunking itself still persists.

The bearing at the bottom of the shock may contribute to the noise as well but haven't attempted to or figured out how to address that.

Confirmed the clunking noise is coming from the MCS lower heim joints. Just going to live with it, replacing these is fool hardy as they'll start clunking again in short order.

Ahhh...metal on metal joint. Cause, race car! My front ARB spherical joints make it about 20 days before making noise. Just a tiny itsy bitsy bit of slop and clankity clank.
Yup, exactly. Not sure how much more performance it really gives over a rubber bushing there as well. My suspicion is, not really all that much and definitely not enough to deal with noise it creates on a track/street car...

Agreed, I'd personally prefer high quality rubber/poly/non-metal bushings.
Interesting. My 1WNRs have a spherical bearing at the rear shock bottom and do not clunk. Dead silent. I'm extra sensitive to it after my TCK DA rears always clunking, its so freaking nice to have it quiet back there.
That said, i only have maybe... 200 miles on them? But my streets are horrible.
The MCS stuff really is great. My e30 has 700/900 springs and is a full on race car. I’ve done one race with MCS 2WNR and it hits curbs and takes bumps in the brake zones like it’s on air. I love it so far. Even driving around the shop area that did my alignment and loading it on the trailer I could feel the difference from the GC Koni SAs I took off the car. Now I have to relearn the cars limits and make them a worthy investment!
Yeah, give them some more mileage Dan and those heim joints are going to start making a racket

That joint on my MCSs doesn't make noise, so I wouldn't automatically assume that's the issue. I've also got 10k+ miles on them.
The MCS-clunking I experienced was an internal shock issue. The majority of the clunking on my suspension is unrelated to the MCSs, and remained clunking while the MCSs were off for rebuild.

I have also made a recent MCS purchase and have gone with the 2W Remotes - Looking for that magic set up as well - I can say that I am very happy with the product after two weekends but still searching the optimum adjustments
MCS NR dampers can be clanky....
