SOLD
Knowing that I will probably always regret it, the time has come to sell my Eurosport Twin Screw 1998 Estoril Blue E36 M3 6-Speed non-sunroof coupe with 103K miles (if I recall correctly). There are 20K less miles on the motor. This car was my introduction to BMW’s and the beginning of a lifelong fandom. I have put a LOT of blood, sweat, and money into this car but I have to face the facts, I just dont drive this car enough to justify keeping it (I have 7 cars) and I can't bear to watch her sit and waste away.
So, it’s time I let someone else enjoy this amazing vehicle. I believe in being straightforward and honest. I’ll tell you all that I know (good and bad) about the car because I want you to be happy with your purchase, and I don't want to hear complaints from you later. I just want a nice clean transaction. Please understand, I do not need to sell this car. I'm listing it for what I believe is currently a fair price (and way less than what it would cost you to replicate), and will not entertain low ball offers, especially those trying to leverage my honestly identified “bad” details to justify a lower price.
I believe that I am the second owner of this car and I purchased it on August 1st 2007. When I purchased this car it had approximately 70k miles, it was Vortech supercharged, had Ground Control coilovers, and a Dove gray interior. All other modifications have been done during my ownership.
This is a low options car, which makes the body somewhat rare. No sunroof, no cruise control, no tilt wheel. It’s a bare bones, get in, hold on, and drive car.

This car is not for the faint of heart, the beginner, or the guy that wants something carefree and comfortable. If you’ve never driven or ridden in a twin screw powered car you need to understand that this car is brutally fast with instant and punishing power delivery. The twin screw enables nearly total torque delivery the moment you push the throttle. As such, this car is easily capable of breaking the rear wheels loose in 2nd and 3rd gear at a 30mph roll. Couple all of this with the fact that there is no traction control and a stiff suspension and chassis and you’re in for a wild ride if you don't know what you’re doing. I'm lucky enough to also have a V10 R8 and this M3 feels just as punchy when you push the throttle, no joke. Don't buy this car if you’re looking for something to drive on the weekend and take your kids to school during the week - they will die. Don't buy this car if you just want something to tinker with and don't really like to drive. This car should be driven. Obviously a car with this level of modification takes maintenance and care, things I just don't have time for anymore. This car is for someone that is comfortable working on cars if they need it, loves to build and modify, loves to drive and go fast all alone in the car because a passenger just adds extra weight, and someone that wants to do more of all of the above.
The bad:
I imported the transmission from the UK and installed it myself. There is a noticeable catch/grind shifting into 3rd. It’s always been there and I really can't determine if its a result of the UUC 6 speed shifter (which I’ve read a lot of complaints about) or if its a synchro issue. Either way, it's never prevented me from shifting into gear or popped out of gear. It’s just not a smooth shift and is very annoying (to me at least). I tried both redline gear oil as well as Amsoil ATF in the hopes it was a synchro lubrication issue and the issue persists. I'm happy to include a 5 speed transmission, driveshaft, and 4 bolt diff flange with the car if you’d like to switch back.
I’ve recently noticed that the front shocks are compressing too quickly over road bumps which leads me to believe that they may need to be rebuilt. These can simply be mailed to Ground Control and I believe rebuilds are about $150 per corner.
This is a 20 year old car and while its been well taken care of, it's been driven and isn’t perfect. There are a few rock chips, and imperfections here and there. There appears to be some slight paint fading on the top of one of the fenders (you probably wouldn’t notice if I didn’t say anything). The vaders have typical bolster wear and could use a dye job. Also, the forward tilt latch cable on the driver's seat has broken preventing the seat from leaning forward. The wheel lips could use a polish, there are some chips in the powder coat of the wheel faces, and the wheel bolts need a rechrome (if you’re a wheel guy).
That’s about it. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this car anywhere (that doesn’t have snow). I still think she’s a beautiful car and the performance is simply astounding.
Please free to ask any questions at all and I’d be happy to send additional pictures upon request. Asking $18,000 (pretty firm)

Damn fine car. I've always been amazed by the torque curve of the twin screw s/c. Good luck with your sale.
Hey thanks for the compliments. These really are incredible with a twin screw. Just monstrous and immediate acceleration.

Priced too low, needs to be about 20k if not more!!
1995 M3...Screwed
Hey Jab31169, thanks for the comment. I agree, the price is lower than I would like, and nothing compared to what is in it. I'm trying very hard to be "fair" given that the front shocks likely need a rebuild, there is a catch shifting into 3rd, and there is very slight paint fade on the fender. In the end, I realize that I've offered it at a very reasonable price and will be pretty damn firm with the sale. Take care.

Dropbox has been updated.
There is also a small video in there of the boost gauge showing how ridiculous and instantaneous full boost and resulting torque is applied. Just amazing acceleration.

I'd recommend highlighting your price and put it at the top and bottom....took me a minute to find it without reading the ad in depth. Point is, if I'm interested, the price is what will get me to read the print....also, your print is kind of small, making hunting for the price a little difficult!
This is a special car for a special buyer, good luck with your sale!
