I have some spare valve shims. I had them stored in a ziplock bag with some oil on them. They were stored inside my house. I was moving them today, while I was cleaning up, and I noticed they were discolored.
The one on the left is how they should look and the one on the right is the discoloration. The other one is a new volvo 240 shim ( which also works)IMG_20180303_174636383.jpgIMG_20180303_174434155.jpg

Has anyone have any idea why they are getting discolored. Should I keep these and use them as is? Should i try polishing them before using them?

Im overthinking this. They polish up nice.
