Question Rear Driver Side Window Issue

    Greetings,

I rolled the rear driver side window down the other and when I rolled it back it came up half way and stopped. I had to manually pull up the window by hand. I haven't tried to use the power window at all, but the window sort of rolled it self down like an inch. I can easily push the window down with 2 fingers like it has no resistance at all. I haven't opened the door panel at this time yet as I am trying to see what are some symptoms that people are having and what are some fixes. I would also like to have the parts on hand before I remove the door panel.

Please let me know what are some issues that I'm facing with my rear window on my 2004 X3.

    Thank you in advance.

    Jay

Pretty much all BMW's blow through window actuators. It's not too hard of a diy, but by now they should have made the switches better. I think it's planned obsolescence. Good luck.

Your symptoms sound more like a broken clip that is used to attach the window to the lift mechanism.

I agree with the clip assessment.
    Easy fix.

this happened to me.... needed the rear drivers side window regulator replaced
... forty-three years of driving before I get behind the wheel of a BMW .... and I am thinking, "why did it take me so long?"
... and then after another 4 years I can't believe that I have two of them !!

Best bet is to take the door apart and see whats broken. I had the problem twice in my e46, once was the clip and once was the regulator
