Also, I did a Google search on "e39 brakes on e34" and found "209,000 results"
As for E34 upgrades, there are a number of E34 options available. One of the quickest for you would be to go with the larger calipers and rotors from the 540/740. They are bolt ons. They have excellent clamping power for normal braking. If you are looking for a more track-suitable set, there is this current thread discussing various options https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...ded-Brembo-BBK
Black on Black 740i - 10/92 build date, 225,000 miles.
Delphin on Cherry 533i - 4/84 build date, 136,000 miles
Black on Black 328i - 3/96 build date, 185,000 miles - Sold

Is there a particular reason you want to change them. Stock E34 brakes are pretty decent. Unless you are racing, tracking or pushing the car upgrades are really not required.
Best bang for your buck is to get the E31 single piston calipers with mounting brackets which bolt up to the E34 and use E31 or E38 324/32mm rotors. The E38 calipers are also the same but require the E31 mounting bracket to fit the E34. You may be able to find rebuilt units online for cheap, but they are becoming harder to find!

There is this reference with all the options.

Some Places remain unknown because no one has ventured forth. Others remain so because no one has ever come back......
Just pick up some refubished M5/540i front and rear calipers from Rock Auto. Just make sure the ones you select come with brackets, they will be direct bolt on and cheap. I just dropped my 525iT calipers back in the original boxes and returned them with a discounted shipping label from their website. Hold onto the boxes the new calipers are shipped in and collect your core refund. Easy peasy! You'll need to pick up larger rotors and the proper brake pads which I did from FCP Euro to take advantage of their lifetime warranty when it's time to replace them. Perfect time to snag some braided steel brake lines as well. ECS Tuning has a decent set for $100. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...t/002570ecskt/
