I have a 2010 335D that I bought in December. Right away I purchased a JBD tuner but after a while I wanted more power and I was getting tired of the SES and limp mode. I decided to get rid of the JBD tuner and went for a Stage 1 tune from APM. After a few pulls the JBD made 261hp/412tq and APM Stage 1 tune made 290hp/457tq on a mustang dyno. Corrected numbers should be somewhere around 334hp/526tq.
I was a little nervous paying for a full dyno tune since I was expecting only minor gains compared to the JBD. Overall I saw a 30hp increase and 45tq increase over the JBD set at 100%. The power band is SO MUCH BETTER and the car just drives smoother. Surprisingly I also found an increase in MPGs. Before the tune I was averaging 26.7 on the cars computer, and now it has slowly increased to 31.2. I’ll manually calculate the mpgs next time I fill up.
Any other 335Ds in the Chicago land area?

Not many diesel posts here on bimmerforums. Best place for modding is e90post M57 diesel subforum. There are also regional subforums there. Bimmerfest is also pretty good.
Most diesel owners have moved away from jbd, as that is necessary to quell the SES from removing pollution equipment.

late post..just picked up a 2011 335d...also in chicago. I just removed the egr cooler, did the swirlflap delete and have a VRSF downpipe on the way. Also cleaned the gunk from the plenum while I was at it. Looking around for suggestions for who I should it it tuned by..thinking dudmd
