I replaced the valve cover gasket. I followed the steps to calibrate the vvt motor. I started the car and it idled fine, after idling for about 5 min I increased the rpms and the engine started to stumble, sounded like a diesel and died. I started it a few more times, it would idle ok for about 10 seconds then begin to rattle/stumble and die. Initially i thought it was something to do with the vvt motor, but i tested it and it definitely works. I also confirmed i have 12v going to the lt terminal plug. It had a p052b code now the car wont start at all. I thought maybe i stretched the wires to the cam senors, but i tested them and they're ok. I checked the 40 amp fuse for the vvt and is fine.
I would recommend you go back and check all your work, if it was fine before the work, then something is not installed right or fully seated
I had this happen once to me and also to someone else in the shop, we don't know why but, for some reason the intake cam got off time. I had access to the timing jig, so I reset the time and also replaced the central bolt for both vanos units. The one I did started fine and happened while I was on the test drive.
When you relearnt the valvetronic did you hear it? Its very noticeable. You checking the fuse tells me you didn't actually hear anything when you ran the initialization for valvetronic stepper.
