    Clutch kit! 6-speed

I have a 1995 bmw e34 540i 6 speed. I ordered a new stock flywheel. And heard something about being able to use an m5 clutch kit on it? Is this true?? Help!

You either use all E34 bits or all E39 M5 bits. You can't mix as they have different size flywheel and clutch discs.

The point of using the e39 m5 clutch is that it's sprung if I'm not mistaken, as is the stock e34 FW. That would be ultra smooth haha. The point is the heavy dual mass FW on the e34 kinda is a bummer

I'm doing this swap right now and after reading through a bunch of posts I went with the e39 M5 clutch kit by LUK from Rock Auto and the LWFW (e39 M62 lite) from TTV Racing in the UK. Several positive reviews from others and also one of the least expensive set ups available. Win, win.

Let me know how you like it, I'm undecided on brand but for the clutch I was looking at spec stage 3

I have just over 500 miles on a SPEC Stage 3+ and I like it a lot. Its overkill at this point, but with near future plans for the car, I think it will be perfect. Still has good street manners since its a full face clutch.

So is that undampened? I was kinda also looking at the sprung 6 puck

No, it’s a sprung hub clutch. After many conversations, I decided on the 3+ because it’s full face, and has a higher torque rating than the 3. Full face makes it much more manageable on the streets.

So more holding capacity, same friction material, more street able but only 300+ more dollars
