Is there a way to lower the window manually to be able to check the clips? The motor makes 1 tick sound but is not moving. Unsure if i should buy a regulator or just a motor & clips.

You'll have to pull the door card and inspect. Most likely its a bad motor, but if you've never opened it up, who knows what the condition of the clips is. They're only a few $ each anyway. Regulators are normally fine, but again, if its original and very old, who knows. Open and inspect, Its about an hour job at most.
Get door card clips and automotive compound glue, most likely you'll break plenty of clips and maybe separate the clip holders when opening it up.
