I did more testing today. It seems like the szl looses power. And i get error 9504 (internal fault) . I can no longer get any reading from summation steering angle. This is the one that didnt budge from 0 before. This was working when i replazed the latest szl . But now it is the same. I have found an error with ULF in the car since my idrive collapsed is this fcan and could this affect the dsc and active steering ?

I do not think this is wheel alignment. Because then i could go throug the alignment test plan without the programming crashing i believe. It still may be failing but i would think the program would finish.

When i do test on dsc sensor and dsc sensor 2 in ista they are good acording to the info given in the testplan.
Got error code on rotation rate plausibility also now. Is this the sensor on the left or the right side ? I will check connection and replace.

Now i found a fiberoptic cable in the trunk. This was poorly connected. Looks same as the one connected to the szl and the ccc unit. Will get this fixed and update her.

I have ordered parts so this can be connected properly. But could this be the reason for my weird problem ? As i understand this is MOST bus. And the afs and dsc uses f-can ? But why the fiberoptic connector in the yellow slot on the szl.

There are 2 separate most buses.
The one you are looking at is likely for the sound system.
You really should be using ISTA because it shows you the network map.

I did use ista. But on the diagram there is one component that could be the szl. Its all the way to the right on the diagram.

The brushes are fine. Inspected each time i replaced the szl. Live data on steering column also reports steering angel values.

Fiberoptic in the trunk is fixed. The fault code most break ring is gone but no sucsess with the AFS
There is no communication between SZL and AFS module.

I keep updating the thread, and have not given up.
i have now investigated with livedata in inpa:
Steering column : here i can readout steering angle on the szl (calibrate or just read, all works fine)
DSC : Is showing assumed steering angle (guess this is from the szl )
AFS : get no readings from szl sensors, all values are standing still even when i turn the wheel.

Im thinking wires between szl and afs / dsc.

i managed to calibrate latteral acceleration sensor in ISTA.

In the wire stick in the front rear inner arch. I have testet continuiti on the wires. I got resoult on white/green to brown/black. So i gues i have a wire that is shorting to ground. When i test in the opposit stick there is no biiping on the multimeter.

Have ordered sensors to replace the ones under the front seats. I have one under each seat. Looks like they are identical.

    A little update :
Have replaced the dsc sensor under the drivers seat (left side)
I now can see the cumulative drivers steering angle but it will still not resett through ISTA.

i hope when the second sensor arrives it will fix the f-can problem.
By the way when replacing this sensor and calibrating it it shows the same values like the old one when the car is stationary.

20180405_171144.jpgOk. Today both dsc sensors under front seats is replaced.
I then deleted fault codes and did the startup routine in the dynamic drive (this sets the latteral acceleration i found out). Then deleted again.
I was trying to run the AFS startup but failed as always. Then took the car for a 10 minute drive. And read out the fault codes again.
Now i see some new codes!

have concluded with that the total steering angle sensor on the bottom of the rack is the problem. So if any one have this i would like to buy Maybe from a leaking rack or something.

Update : i have now replaced the total steering angle sensor and replaced the magnet that gives signal to the sensor. I now have total dteering angle and can calibrate the afs. But after driving a couple of hundred meters dsc light starts to blink like im spinning. And soon the dsc and afs warning lamps return. Any ideas ?

20180511_210212.jpgbefore i managed to calibrate. And after when droving and the warning lamps came back. (The picture with less codes is after driving)20180511_210841.jpg

Do more errors start appearing later after the clear?

When driving and the error in the dash comes the steering is still light like everything is ok. Get error code on steering angle plausibility.20180513_220820.jpg

Took it for a drive today and took live data when driving.
Using ISTA and monitoring all steering angle i see that the summation steering angle jumps to 1440! and Total steering angle jumps to 8192!
This is the sensor on the rack witch i have replaced. All shows good values when engine on and idling. Calibration also completes. But total steering angle is calculated in the AFS module or by the SZL ?

20180516_163240.jpgThis is after i drive over 40ish km/h. Only slow driving below this will not trigger the error. It doesnt look like hard cornering has anything do to either.
