I have a custom exhaust on my 1990 535i that has the o2 sensor mounted just below the shift linkage. The wiring must have snagged on something because the car was running terribly and I go under to check it out and the wiring for it got ripped apart. I gotta get the sensor out but when using an o2 socket on my breaker bar the socket actually deformed a bit and it slipped. Usually with an o2 sensor I'd just chop to wire off and put a real socket on it. But in this case I want to solder it back together. Any suggestions on removing it?
Stronger o2 socket? Can you get a box wrench over it? Room to swing it? Otherwise the smoke wrench is your friend.
