I recently got the message Increased emissions service engine soon indicator in my 2011 M3. I have 31K miles on the car and it is totally stock. My initial thought was emissions so it would be covered under the emissions warranty. The dealer said it would be other sensors and they would have to charge me for the diagnostic scan blah, blah. Has anyone had something similar and did dealer cover the whole issue? Any recommendations before I take in the car for service next week.
thoughts?
Its probably a small leak in the emission system. Could be the gas cap. But I've heard an emission line rubbing against an AC line up front under the hood. Could be the issue...
Your last resort is a smoke test to reveal where the leak is.
I had that coming on once in a while, pulled code, don't remember code. Did some research and replaced low pressure rules sensor, $60,easily accessible, 15min tops, which fixed it. First thing is to get the code.
Replace the fuel pressure sensor
I had this issue. Replaced the fuel pressure sensor, no resolution. Replaced throttle actuators per dealer. No resolution. Replaced 02 sensors, and spark plugs. Problem did not reoccur.
Now in E92 M3 ZCP -- Absolute beast
