So my 2003 325ci rn won’t let me start up my radio , so I though if I bought a new one it’d work, that wasn’t the case, the only way I can get the radio to do anything is if I press reset on it and just lights up for just a second now i have no clue what to do I’ve tried fuses and resetting battery, I feel lost. It used to have a sub but the previous owner took them and I removed the cables when I got a new head unit. Since I got the car the radio hasn’t worked

IF it hasn't worked since you got the car = since the PO pulled whatever, THEN the PO pulled something critical. You'll have to look over everything he did, and every place he did it. I'd start by making sure your current radio has power, and is connected to your amp/speakers/antenna, etc.
