Hi, I am desperate for help. My basket case e38 has famous hood lock issue. There are a lot of posts about how to open the hood, but my hood is open, I have another problem. I replaced both release cables with OEM parts, and even replaced the right hood lock with used (in good condition) lock. No matter what I do, passenger side lock doesn’t open. Cable moves, but it appears it doesn’t travel far enough to trigger release. Car has no accidents, geometry of the front is perfect. Two sets of cables and two used locks did not remedy the issue. I am prepared to spend $100 on new lock, but wonder is there is something I am missing. I did adjust the center cable at both adjustment points.
Thank you all in advance

Can you provide a little diy instruction on this? I am looking to replace cables. I feel like I am this close to snapping cables or right side of hood isn't latched.
