Hey, all! I haunt the E39 and F25 forums and have learned tons about DIY. I'm hoping for help with the 2004 330ci I added to my stable a few weeks ago (a gorgeous red ZHP with 155k, seller babied her - appearance is virtually flawless, has been taken care of mechanically).
Car had an oxy sensor code last week. She's been idling a bit rough, I planned on taking her to the garage next week. I've driven the car about 150 miles last week.
I started and re-parked the car this morning, but there was no crank two hours later. SES and EML lights are on, dash lights on, radio is powered, etc -- but she's dead.
I've gathered a long list of things to check -- are there "most likely culprit" things I should check first. I'll begin with multimeter and OBD readings -- where to go from there?
Try simply charging the battery. I had my E46 start to die in the driveway a month back and the headlights went off and I looked in the car and had a CEL and all kinds of lights on. Turned car off and it wouldn’t turn over. Did a good battery charge and back to good.
I had the car idling in the driveway with the lights on, heat at full blast, seat heaters on, rear defroster, etc. I believe the battery was just low and the alternator just couldn’t keep up with the load at idle.
Good luck

Thanks! I'll give this a try first.
